Role: Whistleblowing Champion Non-Executive Director
Liz brings experience in strategic planning, operations and programme delivery and transformational change at the forefront of policy, service development and market change with expertise in stakeholder management across public and private sectors.
After completing her MSc in Land and Water Management at Cranfield Institute of Technology, Liz began her career at Scottish Enterprise, progressing through a range of economic development roles over 15 years. In 1999, she joined the founding team that established NHS 24, helping to shape Scotland’s digital health infrastructure. She later led the start-up phase of the national youth volunteering charity Project Scotland.
In 2006, Liz joined Openreach (BT Group) as General Manager of Operations for Scotland, with a leading transformation role in the business. This was followed by a Director role leading the delivery of the Digital Scotland Superfast Programme in partnership with Scottish Government – one of the UK’s most ambitious public-private digital infrastructure programmes in the UK.
She joined Fibrus Limited in 2020 supporting the growth of this early start business, leading the work with the Department of Economy in Northern Ireland on the Stratum contract to accelerate broadband rollout in the most rural and underserved parts of the province, helping to address regional inequalities in digital access.
From 2013 to 2019, Liz served as a Non-Executive Director of the Institute of Occupational Medicine, bringing independent oversight to a leading scientific research organisation balancing charitable and commercial objectives.
