Role: Non-Executive Director
Amina Khan recently completed a term as non-executive member of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, alongside its Integrated Joint Boards. She served as the Board’s Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Equality and Diversity Champion, working with stakeholders to strengthen and improve equity of experience and outcomes for patients and staff across services.
She built on her prior experience as a Language Interpreter for the NHS and insights gained into the needs and challenges facing minority communities. She has written articles and spoken on the subject at conferences.
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh’s Quality Governance Collaborative, Amina also has a sound understanding of organisational (and particularly medical) governance.
She has strong experience of shaping and influencing strategic direction and transformational change and is excited to be joining the NHS 24 Board, as it develops and expands its scope for future service provision.
Amina holds a BA (Hons) in English, MTh (Res.) in Theology and Religious Studies and is currently pursuing a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies.
